Arthur and Bella (yes we named HER Bella instead of the other choices) seem to have a rocky relationship the majority of the time. You can tell how irritated they are with each other when it is particularly humid, warm and stale like it has been for a few days now. When you watch them interact on days like today- you would probably think that they totally hate each other.
That can’t possibly be true. Arthur just has no patience when it comes to being warm and interrupted. He hates it when it is warm out- even though we put on the air conditioning in the bedroom and shuffle them in there.
Bella doesn’t like the heat much either- but her personality tells her that it is the perfect time to pounce and play with Arthur (because he is laying down, and calm). She pounces, he hisses… That is how the relationship works.
Then there are amazing moments of clarity when I am convinced that they must be friends- because they seem impossible if they hated each other so much. Like when I find them sleeping or sitting in the exact same position, or when Arthur takes it upon himself to clean Bella.

I think they are very good friends and are plotting new ways to wake me up in the morning. I think Bella is fitting in nicely to our odd little family.
I think many of us have these little love/hate relationships….we see some of the same with Tux and Rheba. Tux is full of silliness and stupidity and Rheba is like…what the hell is wrong with him?….
Kinda funny how its like real life….
You have a nice little odd family and they are both sitting the same way cuz they are discussing the squirrel and how they plan on capturing it and hiding it in the bathroom for further play…LOL

I think Arthur is a grumpy old man, and Bella is slowly winning him older. Kind of like in the book The Secret Garden when Mary befriends Ben the grumpy gardener. Sometimes he likes her company and sometimes he doesn’t, but he gets over his old-man-ness, and they are friends by the end.
